SAT Test Dates in Egypt: When to Register and What to Know
The international SAT is offered in Egypt on set weekends in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December; registration typically closes about three weeks before the test date, and international test centres fill up quickly — register at least six weeks early through satsuite.collegeboard.org.
When is the SAT offered in Egypt?
College Board offers international SAT sittings on a fixed annual calendar. For international students — including those in Egypt — test dates typically fall in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December.
The exact dates and which Egyptian test centres are open for each sitting vary year to year. Always verify current dates and available centres on the official College Board site at satsuite.collegeboard.org before making any plans — do not rely on third-party lists or dates shared in prep groups, which are often outdated.
How early should students in Egypt register?
Regular registration for international test dates typically closes about three weeks before the sitting. Late registration extends the window a little further but carries an additional fee and is not guaranteed.
In practice, international centres in Egypt fill up significantly before the official deadline — particularly for high-demand dates like the October and March sittings. Registering six to eight weeks before your target date is a safer target than waiting for the posted deadline.
- Regular deadline: roughly 3 weeks before test date (confirm on College Board site)
- Late registration: possible but adds a fee and is not guaranteed
- Practical target: register 6–8 weeks before your sitting to secure a seat
- Popular dates (October, March) fill faster — register even earlier
What fees do international students pay?
International students pay the standard SAT registration fee plus an international surcharge. College Board publishes both figures on their website and updates them periodically; the total in USD should be confirmed at time of registration, not assumed from prior years.
Payment is made through your College Board account online. Students in Egypt typically pay by credit or debit card. If you do not have a card, coordinate with a parent or school counsellor before registration opens.
How do you choose the right test date for your application timeline?
Work backwards from your college application deadlines. Most early-decision deadlines fall in November, which means your October sitting is usually the last date whose scores can arrive in time. Regular-decision deadlines in January typically accept scores from the November or December sittings.
Factor in at least one retake window. If your target score requires improvement, plan your first official sitting two to three months before your final deadline, leaving one retake slot as a safety net.
- Early Decision (November deadline): use March, May, June, or October sittings
- Regular Decision (January deadline): use sittings through November
- Build in a retake window — do not make your application deadline sitting your first attempt
- Score reporting takes 2–3 weeks after the test date
Where can students find their test centre in Egypt?
Test centres are listed in the registration flow on satsuite.collegeboard.org once you have created a College Board account and selected your test date. The available centres for each date are shown in real time — a centre that appears on one date may not be available on another.
Do not book travel or make test-day logistics plans based on a centre appearing in a prior year's list. Centre availability changes each cycle. Always confirm through your College Board account.
Frequently asked questions
Can American Diploma students in Egypt sit the SAT?
Yes. The Digital SAT is available at international test centres in Egypt. Students register through College Board's website exactly as international students do worldwide.
How many times can I take the SAT in one year?
College Board allows students to take the SAT as many times as they wish, and most US colleges will superscore — meaning they consider your highest section scores across all sittings. There is no official limit on attempts per year.
How should I prepare before booking my SAT date?
Take at least one full-length adaptive Digital SAT mock before choosing your date. Knowing your baseline score helps you decide how many months of preparation you need before sitting the real exam. Scoremojo offers daily sample SAT practice questions to help you set a realistic timeline.
