What is the EST and who registers for it?
The EST (Electronic Scholastic Test) is Egypt's university-admission test for American-system students. Academic Assessment Ltd. and York Press Limited own it; the EST Academic Board validates it.
EST I has Literacy (85 questions in 90 minutes, three modules), Math (50 questions in 75 minutes) and an optional 50-minute essay. EST II covers Math Level 1, Math Level 2, Biology, Chemistry and Physics; practical faculties ask for two subjects.
Grades 11 and 12 take EST trials that count; Grade 10 students may sit one for practice. Check with the Ministry of Education and the Supreme Council of Universities which trial counts first.
Choosing between the EST and the Digital SAT? Read EST vs SAT in Egypt; for the full format, see the EST I guide.
When is the next EST sitting and what is the deadline?
The December 2026 sitting is open: Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December 2026 — EST I on the Friday, EST II on the Saturday (Math 1, Math 2, Biology and Chemistry this sitting) — with registration closing on Monday 16 November 2026 at 10 p.m.
No 2027 sittings were published on 30 October 2026; the EST announces dates sitting by sitting, so check the official portal. SAT test dates in Egypt are a separate calendar.
What are the official EST fees?
These are official EST fees in US dollars, read from the EST FAQ on 30 October 2026. They are paid to the EST, not Scoremojo.

Which EST registration do you need?
What you register for depends on your faculties: EST I is the base test; EST II is only for faculties that ask for two subjects.
| Test | Who needs it | Best for / why |
|---|---|---|
| EST I, without essay | American Diploma students applying to university | The base admission test; add the essay only if your course asks. |
| EST I, with essay | Linguistics, public relations or writing-heavy courses | Courses that ask for a writing sample; the FAQ recommends the essay for these fields. |
| EST II subjects | Medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, physiotherapy, veterinary medicine, nursing, engineering, IT, computer, fine arts (architecture) and urban planning | The two-subject requirement for practical faculties; check your faculty list. |
How do you register step by step on egypt.estests.com?
Register on the official portal, egypt.estests.com. These steps follow the official account and registration guides.
- Create an account. Choose Log In, then Sign Up Now. Use your full English name as on your passport, your full Arabic name as on your National ID, a valid email and a password of at least 10 characters.
- Add your details. Enter your date of birth as day/month/year. Upload a clear, recent JPG or JPEG photo (PDF will not display). Enter your 14-digit National ID and upload a colour copy of the front, or your passport number and a colour copy. Add your school; the parent section is optional.
- Confirm and activate. Choose Confirm, then open the email "Activate Your EST Account" and click the link. Check spam and use Resend confirmation if needed.
- Choose the sitting. Log in, open Dashboard, select the test and click the arrow.
- Choose subjects. Pick EST I with or without the essay, or your EST II subjects, then Proceed to checkout.
- Pay. Choose Proceed to payment, then Confirm payment, enter the card details and Pay. Complete the SMS one-time password (OTP). Use a laptop, not a phone.
Keep the confirmation email. Your centre is assigned after the deadline, and the Admission Ticket appears in your dashboard.
What ID and photo do you need?
Egyptian students enter their 14-digit National ID and upload a colour copy of the front. If the card has not been issued, you still enter the number; the account guide asks for a birth certificate and passport, while the FAQ says a passport or birth certificate. Follow the current form.
Non-Egyptian students enter their passport number and upload a colour copy.
Upload a clear, recent JPG or JPEG photo. It is printed on your Admission Ticket, so your face must be clear. PDF photos do not display.
On test day, bring your printed Admission Ticket (phone copies are not accepted) and a photo ID (National ID or passport). The FAQ calls it "a copy of an identification document that contains a photo"; the test-day guide lists your identification card. Arrive one hour early; see the test-day checklist.
When do you get your Admission Ticket and test centre?
The EST assigns your centre after the registration deadline by location and availability; it cannot be changed once assigned.
Log in, open Dashboard, go to My Tests and open the current session. You will see the centre, room and address. Choose the EST I or EST II Admission Ticket, save the PDF and print it in colour or greyscale.
If it is not there yet, wait for the EST email; tickets are generated after centres are assigned.
When are scores released and how long are they valid?
Results are usually issued within three weeks and emailed as unofficial scores. Certified reports are ordered from Services in your dashboard; for Egyptian universities they are sent to the Ministry of Education for certification, then couriered.
EST I and EST II scores can be used for up to three years after the results are issued.
A Scoremojo practice score is not an official EST score; see understanding your EST practice scores.
How do you fix a declined card on the EST website?
Most declines are a card or bank setting, not a registration fault. Work through these checks in order.
- Check 3D Secure. The card must support 3D Secure, which sends a one-time password by SMS; without it, payment fails even with correct details and funds. Ask your bank to enable it.
- Wait for the OTP. Keep the registered phone nearby. If the code does not arrive, check signal, request it again, then call the bank. Do not repeat the payment many times.
- Enable online purchases. Some Egyptian debit cards ship with e-commerce switched off; ask the bank to enable online payments.
- Check the USD limit. The fee is charged in US dollars; ask the bank whether international online transactions are allowed and whether the daily or monthly foreign-currency limit covers the fee.
- Use a laptop. The official guide asks for a laptop or PC, not a phone. If the page stalls, sign out, clear the site's cookies and try a current browser.
- Escalate with evidence. If the bank approves the card but the portal fails, try another card. If money left your account without a registration, email tests@egypt.estests.com with the date, amount, last four digits and reference number. Never send the full card number or CVV.
